AMBIVALENCE

I was visiting my family in India when the pandemic hit. For the first time the external world became unfamiliar. Older patterns disintegrated, perspectives shifted and the idea of time changed. Home became our only oasis. It is here where we found alternative modes of engagement, expression, connections and freedom. This period gave me time to pause, feel nourished and appreciate smaller joys otherwise obscured in everyday routines.

This series emerged as a response to the pandemic. The fluid organic forms interlaced in grid patterns reflect the conflicting emotional realities of that time --- of despair and confinement but more largely of togetherness, resilience and hope for a return to the familiar.
